Taylor Helmes,
Multimedia Journalist & Producer
About Me
I am a multimedia journalist based out of Chico, Calif., and recently received my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with honors from California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif.

I currently work as a Producer for Action News Now in Chico, Calif., where I write, plan, and produce the evening broadcasts.

Spending my senior year of my undergraduate studies completely online taught me the skills and work ethic necessary to succeed in a group or as an individual in any environment. It also taught me how to create newsworthy stories, with multimedia components, and how to find unique sources, despite the current health and state of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Topics I have focused on reporting include mental health, higher education, and inequities or challenges students and parents have endured during the pandemic.
I have published articles in Beverly Hills Weekly, CSUDH's student newspaper The Bulletin, EdSource, Cal State Journalism Newswire, and the Los Angeles Times.
